Service Description

Come indoors into the air-conditioned studio to learn the benefits of Yoga for Lymphedema. This summer session is all about learning practices to cool the body and reduce swelling, as you build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. You will learn how to open your lymphatic channels through a combination of self-massage, poses, breath techniques, and meditation. Living with Lymphedema is both a physical and emotional experience. Yoga can help us lymphies connect to our mind-body-spirit, and find compassion, courage, and curiosity to keep Lymphin’ along! What does the class include? Each week Amy will be offering a Gentle Hatha Yoga + an education session about the lived experience with lifestyle tips & resources on various topics each week, such as skincare challenges, how to travel, how to tackle dense tissue, and ways to beat the heat of summer. Each week will include a 45-minute yoga class + 20-30 min. for a chat about a Lymphedema Lifestyle topic, and a chance to get to know other people in your community with Lymphedema. WHO IS THIS YOGA SERIES FOR? - People with Lymphedema in all shapes and sizes. Those living with primary, secondary, arm, leg, bilateral Lymphedema - Newly diagnosed as well as those living with Lymphedema for years. - People with Lymphedema who are interested in working on their health goals through mind-body-spirit, in order to live an empowered life with their condition. - People with Lymphedema who can get down on a mat on their hands and knees.
